CEC & Chairman, Mohamed Konneh and Electoral Commissioners paid courtesy call on the newly appointed Nigerian High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, H.E. Henry John Omaku ( Ecim), to discuss issues of common interest between Nigeria and Sierra Leone in the area of electoral administration.
The High Commissioner in his engagement with the ECSL stated that he has vast experience in the field of elections, which happens to be one of his professional backgrounds.
The objective of the Commission’s visit was to further strengthen bilateral ties and technical cooperation between the two institutions in promoting Democracy through the conduct of credible elections.
A seven-member delegation from the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (EC-SL) led by Director of External Relations Mr. Albert Massaquoi called on the Chief Election Commissioner of India, Shri Sushil Chandra at Nirvachan Sadan today, 8th December 2021.
The officials from NEC SL are undergoing a capacity building training course being held at India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM), the training institute established under the aegis of ECI
New Electoral Commissioner for Western Region subscribed to oath of office
Parliament of Sierra Leone approved Madam Zainab Umu Moseray as Electoral Commissioner for the Western Region on the 28 of October 2021. According to the Constitution of Sierra Leone, the new Commissioner “…shall before assuming the functions of his office take and subscribe before the President the oath as set out in the Third Schedule to this Constitution”.
